Epstein had no medical or public-health role. What this page documents is a position — the number of distinct networks that routed an epidemic to one private individual within six weeks, six years after his conviction.

September 25: Gates Writes Directly
The most significant document in the Ebola cluster is not about Ebola. It is about access.
On 25 September 2014, under the subject "DAF", Bill Gates wrote to Epstein:
"Next week I start Monday in Washington DC mostly seeing Executive branch people including the President on the budget and Ebola. I spend Tuesday in New York the morning touring educational stuff and the afternoon with Robin Hood doing a session on measurement in Philanthropy. Then I have a dinner with a bunch of people. I can easily talk about the DAF approach at the dinner. Ray Dalio and Paul Tudor Jones and others will be at both events."
Three things are in that paragraph. Gates is telling Epstein his schedule with the President. He is offering to advance Epstein’s donor-advised-fund approach at a private dinner. And he is naming which billionaires will be there.
Epstein’s reply is a list of the DAF’s advantages: "share experience . share talent exchange ideas. tax flexibility."
Direct, first-person correspondence between Gates and Epstein in September 2014 — six years after the conviction — in which Gates volunteers his presidential-level schedule and offers to carry Epstein’s proposal into a room of major donors.
That the dinner happened, that the DAF approach was raised, or that anything came of it.
Nor that Gates knew of the offending. He has said the relationship was a mistake and is accused of nothing here.

Five Channels, Six Weeks
The Gates email sits inside a convergence.
Commercial — 10 September. An investor tells Epstein the Gates Foundation is funding Ebola work and offers him access: "We are one of the top 10 shareholders in tkmr… They have a really good RNAi drug for it." Tekmira held an experimental Ebola therapeutic.
Scientific — 8 October. A solicitation: "Any interest in helping on this." The proposal, from Cornell’s Francis Barany, described an assay to diagnose Ebola before symptoms appear, validated against Ebola, Marburg, Crimean-Congo, Lassa, Rift Valley, Dengue, Yellow fever — and variola virus strains from the CDC repository.
Financial — 16 October. JPMorgan’s Anton Pil: "the fear factor of a potential spread of Ebola is palpable… We are monitoring CDC statements closely."
Political — 18 October. To Kathy Ruemmler, until the previous year White House Counsel: "i think ebola now plays a role, if it gets bad — bye bye senate for sure." They are discussing the midterm elections.

What the Convergence Shows
No single document here is extraordinary. The set is.
Within six weeks a private individual with no health role received: a pharmaceutical equity pitch, a research funding solicitation, a UN-affiliated strategy paper, an investment-bank market note, a former White House Counsel’s political read, and the world’s largest philanthropist’s presidential schedule.
Each channel treated him as a different kind of principal — investor, funder, strategist, client, political interlocutor, philanthropic peer. That is what the position was worth.
Whether Barany’s diagnostic was built, or Tekmira shares bought.
And nothing here suggests Epstein influenced the Ebola response. He was an audience for it — an unusually well-connected one.
